True.  The "peer-reviewed paper" technique is not perfect.

However, it's about the best we've got.

Also very true: nothing is (well, should be) ever completely free from
reexamination, usually in light of new evidence - though some things
have amassed sufficient weight of supporting evidence that it would
take quite a lot to provoke major revisiting.
