The version in iLife '05 said it would run on a G3, but some features
wouldn't work.  I forget it if was effects plugins or virtual
instruments or both.  I haven't tried verifying this since I'm not all
that interested in garageband. 

iLife '06 states that a G4 is the minimum machine needed now.
