TinyURL.com says redirects will remain active "until they run out of
space".  Many of us assumed that this meant when they hit zzzz or
someting, they'd roll over and start re-using them.  In fact, what
happened was they added a fifth character and continued.

I just tried http://tinyurl.com/aaaa and http://tinyurl.com/1111.  Both
resolved, though the pages they point to no longer exist.  In other
words, it appears in many cases the TinyURL will outlast the page it
points to.
