Well, some settings, notably the network settings, are misbehaving on me. I
think this is because of my roundabout ways of installing/administering the
machine, because on my other NetBSD gear (/mac68k and /i386) I have no such
problems.

Hm, that's not a bad idea. But I find that in the end I do want to compile
everything myself, anyway, exactly to have them optimised as much as
possible for my setup.
