Don't know if it was here, but I certainly think so.  Perhaps now
with 8x AGP might be ahead of 64bit/66Mhz, but it wasn't true
originally.

And reinforcing that it was a money-making ploy is how they introduced
increasing speeds slowly.  First it was AGP.  Then AGP 2X.  Then AGP 4X.
Keeping the churn going for their chipsets.
