[geeks] VISserver curiousity

Has anyone here worked with SGI vizserver setups?  I want to know how
they manage to transfer rendered images fast enough to be usefull.
Despite all the talk about how special it is, I find myself suspicious
from screen shots that it is just a new name for the same old X server
(for instance, see
http://www.sgi.com/features/2002/sep/manchester/images/lg_op3d.jpg), but
that still doesn't answer the moving rendered images fast enough question.
