The secret is don't tell them.  It's your (and James') kid, even family
doesn't need to know til it gets here.  Sounds pretty harsh, but we
explicitly didn't tell my parents-in-law when we went to the hospital to
have our second kid, just for breathing room (we learned the first
time).

And the atitude that the Dr./Delivery person decides everything about
delivery is not cool, it's traditional, but not cool.  I'd find
alternatives, just because I'd feel that a Dr. like that could very well
make decisions for me that I didn't even know needed to be made.
