FWIW, there's a TV tower in Huntsville (Channel 31's, now owned by
`SpectraSite') that is comprised of alternating solid and hollow sections.
This appears to be the only tower in town capable of supporting the
*massive* four-channel TV antenna that it is sporting.

Right after all the shit flew at DotComQuest, I noticed a 10,000 lb
self-supporting 100 foot tower on a mailing list for very cheap. It
was only 12 hours away, but would need a flatbed (and crane) to pickup. It
was solid, hence the insane weight. But it would put up with 4x 8' dishes
plus the flat Andrews radome. That's a hell of a lot of windload.
