[geeks] Server farm opinions...

Some friends of mine running a small-medium web design, development and
hosting company asked my for opinions and recommendations on a new server
farm they're considering.

Basically what they're after is a contact at a UK company who specialise in
planning and implementing server farms. Can any UK Geeks recommend any
companies they've had in to do this sort of consulting?

Here's what my mate asked...

================================================
Rich asked me to ask you about server rooms/datacentres.
Basically, our hosting business is taking off quite rapidly and our
newly enlarged server room is reaching capacity and Rich is thinking of
setting up a proper server room/data centre elsewhere in the building.
What he's after is the contact details of someone or some firm in the
country who are experienced in providing specifications for what is
required for a set up of any given size. e.g. If we host x servers, how
much room should we have to allocate, what would the aircon requirements
be, what size UPS, what fire system, security, backup generators, etc.
Basically, the whole shebang.

Ideas?

I would hazard a guess at their requirements stretching to no more than
15-20 full height 19" racks.

Cheers,

Will.
