The problem is not the dog - I agree.  However, the overwhelming
majority of *owners* of pitbulls buy and own pitbulls for traits common
in the various breeds - strength, clamp-like jaws, short temper, high
energy, etc and take advantage of those traits to train the dog into an
ill-tempered beast with a willingness to draw blood.  *Your* dogs may be
well-behaved.  Hell, *most* pitbulls may be well-behaved.  However, an
untrained (or poorly trained) pitbull is much more dangerous
than....say....an untrained Golden Retriever.

My assumptions are not unfounded.  Being an avid sportsman I've seen
good and bad examples of training in an lot of dog breeds - but
pitbulls, chows, and others all have reputations that are well
deserved...

Pitbulls, by and large, may make good pets with proper training.  But if
one jumps up on me as I walk down the street, I will do it physical
harm.  No offense to you any other dog owner.
