IIRC there was a post on a NetBSD mailing list a short while ago about
someone happily doing an install via some <56kbps dial-up modem.

but of course with another machine available locally it's probably best
to mirror the relevant FTP directory onto the local machine and then set
up an FTP or NFS file server on it, just in case something goes wrong
and you have to start over....  at least then you won't be sapping
someone else's resources more than necessary! :-)
