My 43P works well with an ATI Mach64 from an old PC. Only tried it a
few times when I briefly ran Linux on it.

And did it boot with the card as console, or did the card only work in
X?

Never tried to boot with the card as console, used the built-in video
for that. I imagine that once Linux fired up it would work, assuming fb
was used. I'm far from an expert, though.

Just because it is being a jerk doesn't mean that it is an actually
oddball machine. Besides, he already has an athlon that treats him
oddly. He needs something that is just plain wierd. Who wants to
design
a 33 bit computer with me?

If I'm not mistaken its a CHRP/PREP box of some form. probably=20
604(e) based. Its an interesting box if you can get it working but=20
ram for it would be expensive.

If it doesn't require ECC or paired memory, I probably have some around
somewhere... Actually, I know I do.

That would be me. (No, I'm not begging!) Out of all the massive Unix
wisdom on this list, I may be the only IBM-trained AIX admin here.

I had a roomfull of these once. If you don't end up doing anything with
it, it'd have a good home here.

I'm IBM-trained in AIX, but I'm far from being an AIX admin. It's
funky.

I can admin an AIX box, but its the only "flavor" of UNIX that I *dont*
really put on my resume..=20

e.g., I can keep one up and running with enough dead chickens to wave
around, and I can get AIX installed...

I'd rather trim a lot of things off my resume, but people keep insisting
that they need to stay for now if I ever want a job. =20

I mean, what is the point on advertising VB skills if I forget
everything
when I go a month without doing VB coding? Actually, I'd just as soon
trim everything off the skils list, since I'm not particularly skilled
or
expert with any of them. In case anyone is wondering, the list of
skills
that aren't really is tagged after the sig.

I just wish that. I don't know what I wish that. Feeling restless the
past few days.

You're right, it's different than "joining the party", which is where I
sent hime with my reply. I'm both a party member and a registered voter,
though Maryland dropped the party from the rolls a few years ago because
of some technicality, so I was "demoted" to Independent.

I thought of going libertarian, but I just don't see another Lincoln
happening, and thought that maybe having a say in the primaries would be
usefull. Of course, I then forgot to vote in the primaries, and I think
the other guy had dropped out before my state voted anyway.

Heh, I know how it goes with the resume. Some people say to=20
deprecate old ibm mainframe experience, but others say leave
it on.

And really, I'm not *that* skilled with hpux. I'm not bad, but
....

actually, it's here:

http://www.koyote.cx/resume/cnh_koyote_resume.html

I should edit it to include system engineering since that's what I
always end up doing. But I have NO training. Hell, for that matter, my
formal training is so limited I get brush offs from hr a lot.

Never not been given a job when I could get a f2f interview, though.
