[SunHELP] solaris 10 problem

hello all,
i've installed solaris 10 on a dell poweredge2650. it installed fine and it is up and running, but i am running into problems on power cycles.  when i reboot the system the monitor no longer sees a signal.  the last time this happened i issued a ctrl-alt-del at startup and that somehow got it work. i am not sure exactly what signal needs to be sent.

the same thing has happened again but ctrl-alt-del does not seem to work.  i know that on a sun machines using a sun keyboard you have to press the power button on the keyboard if you shut the machine down with a specific command, but i don't know what the equivalent on an x86 machine would be.  would someone be able to point me in the right direction as why this is happening and a possible solution?  it seems i'm missing something very basic.  thank you in advance.
