Hi Lara,
Not sure but i think that its maybe because in your zone files, you need to
end fully qualified hostnames with a ".". Otherwise, BIND thinks you are
using shortcuts and appends the zone file's domain to your entry. For
example, www.bind.com in the sun.com zone file will become
www.bind.com.bind.com.

Surly that defeats the point of having a central dns server if I have to
edit each individual host file?
I will not be using sendmail so I don't have a sendmail.cf
