[SunHELP] Ultra 5 running 2.5.1 hangs early in boot

First let me say I have a workaround for this problem but I wanted to ping
some Sun gurus with a very strange issue that I'd like to fix without
re-installing from scratch.

I installed 2.5.1 HW 11/97 on an Ultra Sparc 5 with no problems (End User
distrib). I then copied over my install a fully patched 2.5.1 "OS Image"
using an ssh/rsync script another admin had written. Essentially this
replaced nearly all my system files, but excludes places that could be
problematic like /dev, certain files in /etc, and stuff like that.

The problem is that now on bootup I get the PROM banner, then:

Initializing Memory /
Boot device: disk File and args:

And that's IT. It just hangs there with the cursor just beneath the 'B'.
I can Stop-A and play around in the PROM but that's it. I can 'boot cdrom
-s' and mount my disk /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 and everything looks fine on it.
Only it won't boot. Any thoughts? I even did an installboot from the
CDROM to make sure my bootblk was working. But I have no idea what else
to try.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

-Michael
