I've gone to the FBI after a DOS took down a client's adult-oriented web
site. They did suffer financial loss, it was a concerted effort, and we had
a pretty good idea of who it was. The FBI said that since the loss was
"small" - only $20,000 or so, it wasn't worth their time to pursue it. I
was stunned, but they simply would not help.
