[SunHELP] Sending Mail without sendmailD

Thu May 8 11:02:43 CDT 2003

Ok... so I made a change now to /etc/mail/submit.cf on line

D{MTAHost}[smtp.your.domain]

To my relay host, and client email sends out now. The only difference is
now I see sender at host.domain.com as the sender instead of sender at domain.com.

So what is the difference between sendmail.cf and submit.cf?

Have you checked the logs for an error message? Does the box have a
FQDN? Is the SMTP server you are relaying to recognize the DN?

Check the /var/adm/messages or /var/adm/maillog (or whatever your
default mail log is) for an error.
