That probably won't help if he needs Solaris 8. There is one copy of
the Sol8 Intel media kit on eBay at the moment, and others may show up,
so if you can't download it, you might consider buying a kit.
Your local Sun VAR may also have some stock. At one point I needed Sol7
and my VAR at the time had it. If you need contacts, let me know and I'll
look around.
Also, Jason, can you do anything about your quoting and sig? 60 lines
in the message I'm replying to, and only three new lines, can be
pretty annoying. The digest folks probably get it even worse, since
they have to page through the flotsam to get to the next message.
Generally, if you are quoting something to set up context for your
words, it's best to actually quote them in the message. And if you
don't need to set up context, there's no reason to quote at all.
I do understand that some companies insert disclaimers and such,
and I believe those responsible for such decisions should be forced
to read their email at 1200bps for a month or two, so if that's the
case for the disclaimer I'll withdraw the gripe about those lines.
But the concern over quoting remains. :)
