[SunHELP] Sun Blade giving me problems

Hello All

i had to change a UID for a user so that i for some
NFS configuration  .

THere has been a prob here . all my drives . a CDROm,
CDwriter and the Tape drive has mysteriouly gone off
hoof.

Wat i mean to say is that when i tried to use my CDROm
it didnot mount and when i tried to see under /vol all
the dev and dsk directories etc are gone , no trace
available . I tried to start the volmgt but to no
avail ..

Any ideas wat went wrong , is it because of the UID change...
