trying to implement software RAID on a new machine. did this before no
problem. i had some problems with the display and bringing up metatool.
when i finally got it up, greeted by :
The Metastate Database (metadb) contains no replicas.
You must add at least 1 replica to it before you can commit any
metadevices you create.
Ideally you should have several replicas (at least 3) distributed over
different disks and controllers to maximize fault tolerance.
----
WHen i evaluate the MetaDB i get :
59:10 PM GMT The Metastate Database has the following configuration warning:
The state database will have no replicas.
If the system reboots, all metadevices will be corrupted.
----
following Solstice DiskSuite 4.2.1 User's Guide, i drag the meta db into
the work area and click on disk view. the disk view is empty and there
are no controllers (view all controllers changes nothing). Clicking on
view slices, no slices show up.
does anyone know what is going on or where i should go from here? i am
really stuck on this one.
thanks for any help
-Paulo
