i've used cygwin pretty successfully (although i don't use windows very
often so i haven't really tested it that much).  you can even run native
X apps on the windows machine with this... i had fvwm and xterm and
stuff running directly on a 'doze machine.

other than that, i've only used exceed (payware) although i think
there's one other free X server program for windows.
