I starting from scratch....To undo any damage that I have done.
I have an Ultra 10 with a nine gig hard drive trying to run Solaris 8 as
a server. FTP, DNS
The default partitioning is:
1.2 GB for /
and the rest for /export/home
How do most people partition for Solaris 8?
Second question. What are the critical files for network configuration?
Or where can I find a Solaris8 network config howto?
i.e
Setting the hostname? (my dsl router (linksys) likes to set it to
"unknown" in /etc/host and I can't seem to change it even if I change
it there)
Enabling or disabling DHCP
I was already given help with the default gateway (thanks very much)
If these questions are too basic for this group any other resources
would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time
David
