Hi

I think the only reason why Sun did not offer the system with 512Mb was the
physical size of the DIMMS which will not fit into the U5. Other than that
they will work as the board is the same for U5 & U10 systems.

The same goes for the UPA graphics cards.

I have seen posts on Usenet saying the Ultra 5 will go 1 gig on RAM
(4x256MB DIMMs), but Sun's site says 512 megs (4x128MB DIMMs).

Has anyone actually *seen* an Ultra 5 with 256 meg DIMMs installed?
