Hi
Why don't you compress this tar file.That should solve the problem.
Thanks

Subject: [SunHELP] Solaris 2.6 limitations?
Reply-To: sunhelp at sunhelp.org
I've got an old (Intel) Solaris 2.6 server.
I'm trying to tar up some stuff to a file. It keeps crapping out on me
in=20
the same place.
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
I'm thinking that the machine can't create a file greater than 2GB.
Might=20
this be true?
# ls -l
total 3944210
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 2018426880 Oct 2 15:21 homer.tar
drwxr-xr-x 23 root other 512 Sep 11 2000 local
drwx------ 2 root root 8192 Aug 31 2000 lost+found
# uname -a
SunOS homer 5.6 Generic_105182-20 i86pc i386 i86pc
The tape drive in this machine died and I figured I could tar and
transfer=20
since I have an area with room to tar.
