I have the same issue over here. 'cannot open boot device' .  Are you usi=
ng burned cd's ?  I finally broke down and ordered 2.6 off of ebay.
apparantly burning solaris cd's is 'hard'.  Let me know if you ever get t=
hat thing to go and vice versa.
