All-

Thanks for all the emails I've received from you all. 
But I solved the problem late last night.  I solved it
by "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s0" for about
30 seconds.  I don't quite understand why zero'ing the
disk allowed me to partition all 40 Gb but it worked.

Again, Thanks a lot for the emails.  I appreciate it.
