It will work untill next reboot. You might want to put ifconfig statement in
one of your rc* scripts to run on every boot.
Files configuration:
IN /etc ::::
1. nodename
2. hostname.<interface>
e.a. hostname.hme0 or hostname.le0
3. hosts ( loghost entry )
4. netmasks

You can change with out any file by using ifconfig command!!
