Is there a firewall between you and your hosts? SOunds like there's a very
short idle session timeout set somewhere.

Subject: [SunHELP] HELP: Telnet timeout problem
Hi guys
I have a problem with the telnet protocol. Telnet was fine on my box until
a week ago when I started getting the following error message:
'Lost connection to host'
I also get this when I use the SSH protocol, and it happens each time I
connect to any of the servers servers, so I can't even blame it on any one
machine.
It's so frustrating because each connection lasts for just under 5 minutes,
and this is the only way I can access my servers (without risking freezing
to death in the Machine room that is!)
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
Regards.
Tope
