Hi all,

i'm trying to put a symbios sym8952u pci scsi host adapter in an ultra5.
the data sheet from lsi logic says that it is compatible with solaris
2.6 (i'm running solaris 8) and the Solaris 8 Reference Manual
Collection (man pages section 7: Device and Network Interfaces) says
that support is provided via the ncrs driver (is this an x86 only
driver??). after installing the card and doing a 'boot -r' i got the
following message, repeated 3 times:

Configuring /dev and /devices
Warning: /pci at 1f,0/pci at 1/scsi at 1 (glm 0):
Symbios PCI device (1000,c) not supported
Warning: /pci at 1f,0/pci at 1/scsi at 1 (glm 0):
    glm_config_space_init failed
Warning: /pci at 1f,0/pci at 1/scsi at 1 (glm 0):
    attach failed

if the ncrs driver does work with sparc solaris, what package do i need
to install and what other steps are necessary? both the SUNWglm*
packages from the solaris 8 cd are installed, but i don't see anything
like SUNWncrs...

thanks for any help,
-brian
