[SunHELP] Solaris 2.8 Install... Not

unplug the keyboard.  take out the framebuffer.  attach a serial console.
install solaris.  re-attach keyboard and framebuffer, boot -r, and you
should be on your way. :)

that's a joke, but it's how i do it cause that GUI installation deal annoys
the fsck out of me.  either that or use an older unsupported (for console
graphics) frambuffer which has the same effect, you just don't need a serial
console.

i installed Solaris 8 on three sparc 20s now.  two with SM71 CPUs (both single
and dual-CPU) and one with a Ross HyperSPARC (150Mhz, 512K Ecache) and i didn't
have a bit of trouble.  what to check?  not really sure.  could you cut'n'paste
the console output? (another good reason to use a serial console)

start all the way from the beginning with the bootup banner and everything.
