Hope you've got some cash to spend on this. A DLT autoloader (800Gb) wi=
ll
cost you
around =A36-8 thousand UKP. Add to that another =A310-15K worth of soft=
ware if
you go via
the Networker/Netbackup route. You can shave this down a bit if you nee=
d a
lower capacity
system. There's no getting round the hardware costs. On the software si=
de
you might want to look at AMANDA.

I am not the biggest Sun/Solaris expert in the world, and I would like =

I have a customer who has a 333 gig RAID tower attached to a NuTec Ultr=

Sparc clone
running Solaris 7.  They are looking for a tape backup solution.  Does
anyone have
any opinions on tape libraries/software?  This really needs to be a fir=
e and
forget
solution, if possible.  The comany is small, and they don't want to hav=
e to
hassle
with the system, they just want it to run.
