Yes.

The rails that Sun provides with the A/D1000's are designed specifically
to fit in the Sun Enterprise cabinets, not in your typical cabinet that
lacks side-facing mount points.

In the past I've used shelves for this, but it was less than optimal. I'm
sure that anyone who is handy in a machine shop could make a killing
selling kits that work in most places.
