I use the gcc that comes with Solaris8 and I don't have /usr/ucb in my
path. My path looks like this:
/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/opt/sfw/bin:/opt/jpda/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/SUNWspro/bin:/bin
What you really need to have are /opt/sfw/bin (SunFreeWare binaries) and
/usr/ccs/bin (binary utils etc.) in your path.
I hope this helps.
Richard.
