Shivraj, you might want to get a hold of the following tools:

1. Perfmeter - provided with Solaris, needs X-windows, quite useful if you've
got a couple of servers, just put these displays up on the one console and
monitor them all at a glance.

2. Top - download from www.sunfreeware.com or from one of it's many mirrors

3. Proctool - fancier version of top, some pretty neat graphing facilities.
Needs
an X-windows display. Again get from www.sunfreeware.com (or mirrors)
[SunFreeware is a really useful site, it's got a permanent place in my
bookmark list!]

4. SymbEL - download from http://www.sun.com/sun-on-net/performance/se3/.
Monitoring
toolkit, some of the examples are very good, some examples need X-windows. Try
zoom.se which gives an overall view of your server - quite useful if you're
busy, can
give false alarms, (I'm too lazy to modify the default rules it uses).

There are plenty of tools out there, and these are just the one's I use.

Regards

Bob Cross
