Is it from sunfreeware.com ? I assume it's a package? In which case a...

pkgadd -d .

in the directory the file is in will do the job. Failing that it might be
some sort of script or self-extractor (I have installed this before, just
can't remember exactly how.) What does the file command say the install file
is? Try something like...

$ file gzip-1.3-sol7-sparc-local
