[Sunhelp] Printer.conf modification

Hi admins,
Our Novell admin has changed the printers configuration and print server
names and now I have to change the printing settings of 150+ workstations .
I was thinking of writing a script that will apply changes to the file
directly .
is that safe ??
the file heads with a warning but the man pages says bares no such
warnings...
any tips or gotchas ( or even a better way :-) ) will be appreciated !!
