[Sunhelp] gcc (and others) compiling problems. man -k problem

Hi,

I am using a Solaris 2.6 (PC architecture). Coming from the linux world, I
quite fancy the GNU style, so firstly, I have fetched gcc, bash and some
others toys that (amazing!) are not shipped with Solaris.

I began compiling gcc (following the instruction in INSTAL). I did:

make distclean
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/sun/logiciels/gcc-2.7.2.2
--local-prefix=/usr/local/sun/logiciels/gcc-2.7.2.2
--target=i586-sun-solaris2.6
--host=i586-sun-solaris2.6 --build=i586-sun-solaris2.6
make LANGUAGES=c

and I got the following error message:

Any suggestion ladies & gentlemen?



B) About "man". I typed  'find / -name man -print' and with the output and
a model coming from another machine I carried out my "MANPATH". However,
every time I type man -k ksh (for instance) I get:

/usr/openwin/share/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas
/usr/openwin/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas
/usr/share/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas

/usr/dt/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas
/usr/bin/man/windex: Ce n'est pas un ripertoire

/usr/demo/link_audit/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas
/usr/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'existe pas
/usr/local/sun/logiciels/unzip-5.12/man/windex: Ce fichier ou ce ripertoire n'exista

well, maybe I have to make the 'windex' indexes. No problem!: according to
man, we should be able to do it thanks to catman 

root:/usr/local/sun/logiciels/gcc-2.7.2.2 > catman
 la locale est fr, chemin man /usr/openwin/share/man/fr incorrect
sh: l_:: Introuvable
 la locale est fr, chemin man /usr/openwin/man/fr incorrect
sh: l_:: Introuvable
(same for the others. Yes! my machine speaks french! I prefer spanish
but my boss would not have liked it much! ;))

suggestions, please!!!
