[Sunhelp] Problem with init S

Try 
boot -s
at the prompt - correct?
It should come up - hit return to continue or enter root password for
maintenance...

	I'm a newbie on this platform, spare me.

	I wont to backup my system with ufsdump. Therefor I wont to go in
	Single-User mode.
	When I wont to Single-User mode with init s, the system start after
a couple
	of seconds the GUI logon.

	What is wrong?

	How can see in which mode I'm in?
