If my memory serves me correctly, the 170 has major driver impediments to
running on Sol9. P9000 isn't supported for a start, I don't think.

Subject: [SPARCbook] LCD upgrade for a SB 3XP

Just thought I'd drop a note to say that I was able to upgrade the display
on my Tadpole Sparcbook 3XP.

The 3XP comes stock with a 640x480 display which was not adequate
(in my estimation) for X-windows or CDE.

I was able to swap in a display from a Tadpole P1000G, which has a
resolution of 800x600. The donor P1000G was one of three 100 MHz
Pentium parts units I picked up on ebay for a good price (no hard drives,
one good battery, two good displays, and other stuff).

It worked and fit perfectly. The openboot prom monitor and Solaris 2.6
recognized the display, and I now have a usable Solaris system.

Now to work on my RDI Powerlite Turbo 170. Has anyone tried running
Solaris 9.0 or Aurora Linux on a Powerlite?
