The S3000 has an IDE hard drive in the internal bay, so if you have a
desktop Solaris box with an IDE interface, you could always remove the
drive, open the case, and plug it into a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor and try
mounting it that way.

NB: Not that I advocate opening anything unless you are confident and are
out of warranty :)
