Well, when I brought it up, I _was_ asking: "what is the letter of the law?"
as opposed to "What are people doing" which has ben discussed plenty
already. Personally, I paid the 75 for solaris 8, picked up a 2.6 CD
secondhand, and rationalized by figuring that that would be OK with
Sun and within the spirit of the law. But technically it's not,
or at least doesnt seem to me to be withing the letter of the law.

That's what I thought. I could swear I read that on the Sun site
on the Free Solaris 7 page(s). But on the page
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/binaries/process.html
it definately says otherwise. I read all those pages a year or two
ago and definately thought I read something about how you didnt even
have to pay the 75 if you don't need the cdrom, just register. Maybe
it changed.
