    At first blush, likely yes -- and having such a tool in one's
arsenal can never hurt.  Also, and see another reply on this topic
about AUI, a supply of AUI <-> 10Base-T adapters can never hurt
either.  If one interface seems dead, the other might well work.

    Yes, the hub will need to talk to the wifi bridge if you want your
10 to have 'Net access.  This is usually trivial.  I've never seen
even a dual-speed hub refuse to talk to anything.

    Personally, unless I was really strapped for cash, I'd spring for
the manageable comms gear as that tends to get you nice things like
SNMP and whatnot.  A decent, although not infallible, rule is, "Don't
scrimp on tools."
