interesting to hear the indian side.  i've heard a few outsourcing
fail stories, one where i think it brought the company down.

i lean towards agreement with the others - it works for the suits who
collect bonuses for short-term savings then bail before the **** hits
the fan.  lesson from harvard - look out for #1 and screw everyone
else...

there's another HBS fallacy, that one doesn't need to know anything
about what a company does to manage it, one only needs to know about
money.  counter to this is an old car-industry adage: car-guy
management develops great products and attracts lots of customers, but
this is expensive and profitability suffers, and so business types are
brought in to run the company.  they're very good at managing costs
and profitability improves for a while - but the end result is stale
gutted products that drive customers away, so car guy management is
brought in to develop new product...

lather, rinse, repeat.
