Lionel,

Not a bad idea - i guess I could try and suss out what's coming out
of
the internal side of the PS. 


Likewise, it seems the PS is pretty
straight-forward. Looking at pics,
it might be as simple as looking for failed
caps/components and
replacing them.

Good except for PS iMacs are quite bountiful around here
- there could
be
quite a market for third-party power bricks in my opinion.
Is a. 'Hacked' power supply even possible? Everyone likes to describe
iMacs as
laptops without batteries, could a laptop PS be somehow put into
service?
