I was responding to two things at once: one, I'm shocked that a big-money
Sun box would stoop to (and according to the manual, it does: eeek!
"American Megatrends") PC BIOS when Sun already had such a neat thing as
OBP, *and* the suggestion (from previous post, not quoted here) that Sun
"Intel" boxes were never intended to be performers.

I realize (unless you're running DOS or have a new UEFI box that phones home
and does microcode *cough* NBA *cough* upgrades while you think your PC is
turned off, etc.) that the BIOS gets outta the way once the fun begins. It's
just seems kind of like putting a Toyota starter motor in a Caterpiller backhoe.
That's just *wrong*! At least that's how it caught me at the time...
