Lots of people run OpenBSD firewalls on the ALIX boards:

Might be worth a look.  They top out at 3 Ethernet ports though, which
might not be enough for you.

Some of the newer Intel Avoton/Rangeley Atom boards have quad Ethernet
plus a PCIe slot for more, and are very power efficient.
