[rescue] long shot... anybody got a Gateway 486?

No way ;) I paid about $30 for the computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
at Goodwill. I went back later and spent another $4 on that external modem.
I know all about the Intel processor line following the 486, I was sitting
there drooling over PC Magazine in the school library but too broke to
afford one. A couple years later, I made enough money selling a hog for 4-H
that I could build myself a pretty sweet AMD system which lasted me a good
6 years.
