I'm glad it turned out to be so simple. And here's where I have to own
up and say it's my fault ... I swapped the 2GB of RAM that was in the
U2 when I got it for the 512MB of RAM that came in my U30 three years
ago, and didn't remember it until now. I clearly *thought* I had
everything properly seated at the time, but evidently I didn't, and I
didn't try to boot it at the time to check it.
