I have a J932SE Cray and it uses a Sparcstation 5 as the management/boot 
system. Once it's up an running, I guess I should see if it's possible to 
make a script for a SGI Indy to turn it into the SWS (management/boot 
host)

I guess SGI must have sold Sparcstations with the Crays because that's 
what they used.
