I'm not exactly sure but I know that there are different wall sockets with
different "holes" according to the current capability of that circuit.
220 V sockets also have different holes to prevent the wrong stuff
being plugged in.  I can't get my "code book" right now but both plugs
and sockets are available for 15 A, 20 A and higher circuits.  That's
probably what those cords are, ones that plug into a higher amperage
circuit.
